Ms. Lana Elizabeth Patricia Sewell, 63 Brunswick went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 22, 2011 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born November 14, 1947 she was the daughter of the late Lester M. Lyles and Adrian Henderson Lyles.
She attended St. John’s Elementary School and graduated from Frederick High School in 1966. She went on to take several courses at FCC.
Ms. Sewell enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and learning as much as she could. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brunswick. She was well known in her earlier years for her work at the Frederick Sewing Factory and was also employed for several years at Northampton Manor as a CNA, where she enjoyed helping and caring for the residents.
She was a very loving mother, foster mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by a daughter, Marlene Sewell of Frederick, five sons, Dennis Sewell III of Frederick, Marvin Sewell of Brunswick, Elmer Sewell and Tyson Sewell both of Hagerstown and Leroy Millberry of Frederick, ten grandchildren, Michael, Christina, Mariah, Stefon, Kyrese all of Frederick and Diamond, Michael, Jasmen, Amyzha and Tyson Jr. all of Hagerstown, three great grandchildren, Ariana, Kenyon and one soon to arrive all of Frederick.
She is also survived by a brother, Lester Morris Jerome Lyles of Rockville, devoted friend and father of her children, Dennis Lester Sewell, Jr, a sister-in-law, Joan Ann Lyles and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Madeline and Foster Henderson, a brother, Paul Morcel Lyles Sr. and one great grandson, Ja’Heart Maleek Foreman.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Friday, January 28
th
from 6:00-8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catholic Church Road, Petersville, MD on Saturday, January 29
th
at 11:00 AM with Father George A. Limmer officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
