Mrs. Lana Louise Eiker, 61, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at her daughter's home. She was the wife of Kenneth Elwood Eiker, Sr., her husband of 43 years.
Born September 18, 1952 in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Mearl W. and Lana L. Morningstar Dewees.
Lana loved family events, babysitting, yard sales, going to the Goodwill, banana splits, crabbing and going to Ocean City. She also enjoyed working at the deer processing center.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Kenneth E. Eiker, Jr and fiance Jennifer Ranger of Emmitsburg and Pam Garber of Thurmont, grandchildren Ricky Garber, Taylor Eiker, Morgan Eiker, Molly Eiker Jacob Eiker, Levi Garber and step-granddaughter Emily Warden, her siblings Mary Staubs, Calvin Dewees, Sally Baumgardner, her twin Grace Sabato, Betty Lou Koons, Mearl Dewees, Jr., Bonnie Eyler, Patricia Toms, Ronald Dewees, Anna Messner and Lori Droneburg, a special sister-in-law Laura Eiker and brother and sister-in-laws Johnny and Tammy Eiker and Morris and Juanita Eiker, and other brother and sister-in-laws, a special friend Jamie Wright. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Rusty Garber. She will also be remembered by her special dogs Money, Emmie, Riley and Butterball.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont, Friday, June 20, from 2-4 and 7-9pm, where services will be held Saturday, June 21, at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeff Walter officiating.
Interment Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Garber, Nicholas Wachter, Wade Droneburg, Johnny Eiker, Jr., Steven Norris and Keith Rippeon.
