Kyi Cha West, 80, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Frederick Health Hospital. She was the loving wife of James V. West II. They were married for 59 years.
Born on September 13, 1943, in Busan, South Korea to the late Pyungju Cho and Dongya Kim, Kyi was the youngest of nine children. She was the last of her immediate family.
Kyi was a military wife and traveled extensively with her husband and family during his 20 year military career; having resided in Muenchweiler and Frankfurt-Germany, Denver- CO, San Antonio-TX, Augusta-GA, and finally Frederick-MD. Kyi was a hostess for a few years with Roy Rogers Restaurant, and will be remembered for her smile and warm welcome. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Kyi will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Sharron L. West (husband George M. Foreman, Jr.), Maria C. Tiqui, and Christopher L. West; grandchildren, Randall L. Tiqui (wife Rachel), and Bryant Miller (wife Brittany) and great-grandchildren, Ethan K. Tiqui and Leila M. Tiqui; Brionna Miller and Bryson Miller; and nephew, Yih Geon Cho (wife Ick Hwa).
She was predeceased by her parents and siblings.
A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
Interment will be private.
