Kimily Crea

Kimily Jo Crea, 65, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her husband and children.  She was the wife of Michael Thomas Crea.  Born on May 8, 1956, in Columbus, OH, she was the daughter of John Awe and Virginia J (Boehm) Awe.

Mrs. Crea was a 1974 graduate of Upper Arlington High School in Ohio and was a 1979 graduate of Bowling Green State University.  She worked at Marathon Oil Company from 1979 to 1986, where she met her husband.  Mr. and Mrs. Crea were married on November 14, 1981 in Columbus, Ohio.  Kimily later became a preschool teacher at Mountview Early Learning Center from 1999 to 2004 and at BEARS Preschool from 2004 to 2014, where she thoroughly enjoyed teaching young children.

She was a member of the Bowling Green State University swim team and was an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.  She enjoyed swimming and ballet from her youth and throughout her life.  Kim cherished watching her children excel at baseball, basketball, volleyball and dance.  She loved animals especially her pet dogs and rabbits.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 4 children: Brian Crea, Stefani Repola (Cheston), Lisa Crea and Jason Crea; 3 grandchildren, Sara Repola, Leah Repola and Kerri Repola as well as a sister, Madelyn Cook and a cousin, Rebecca Emerson (Tom), each of whom she loved dearly.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Awe.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 7 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 8428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 8 at 11:00 am at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time.
