Kevin Staley

Mr. Kevin Boyd Staley, 42,  of Thurmont, Maryland, loving father of Kayla and Kristopher Staley of Cobb Island, passed away at his home in Frederick where he lived with his  best friend and love of his life Hope Hoffman and her family.

Born February 22, 1972 in Bethesda, Maryland, he was the son of Betty Burdette Shaw of Thurmont and Earl Staley, Sr. and wife Sally of Mt. Airy. Kevin is survived by his brother Earl Staley, Jr. and wife Candi Weddle Staley of Frederick, his maternal grandmother Grace Turner and husband Carlin “Skip”, his step-siblings Walter “Stoney” Davis of Mt. Airy, Shelley Adcock and Stan Davis both of Martinsburg, WV, Gerald Shaw of Mt. Airy,  Nora Lee Gochenour of Smithsburg and  numerous nieces and nephews.  He will also be remembered and dearly missed by Sharon “Mom” and Reno Hoffman.

Kevin was employed at Barrons Lumber in Gaithersburg  for 20 years as a truck driver.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #282, the Loyal Order of the Moose #371 and the United Civic Association of Shookstown.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing,  all animals  and especially going to the Tractor Pulls at the Frederick Fair.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick Tuesday, February 17, from 2-4 and 7-9pm.  Services will be held at the Boyds Prestyterian Church, 19901 White Grounds Road, Boyds, MD. Wednesday, February 18 at 11:00 am
Interment in the church cemetery.
