Kenneth Edward Cogswell

Mr Kenneth Edward Cogswell,81
of Frederick, MD, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2009.

He was the husband of Mary Sanford Cogswell. They had been married 60 years.

Mr. Cogswell was born on November 19, 1927, in Washington, DC. He was the son of the late Frank Kenneth Cogswell and Cordelia Oder Cogswell and lived in the District of Columbia until his graduation from Western High School in 1946. He then entered the Army and served in the Army Air Corps, training in radar and supervising the loading and unloading of cargo and crew, working on the Berlin Air Life in Europe. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1948. He and Mary Married in 1949 and resided in Glenmont, Maryland. The rest of his career was spent at the United States Department of Interior, Geological Survey, as a Cariographic Technician, advancing in his career to supervisor until his retirement in 1980. He and Mary then moved to Sun City Center, Florida, where they lived until moving to the Edenton Retirement Community in Frederick, Maryland in December of 2006.

In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his sister, Elouise Bury , and his two children, Jill Mare Weber (Cogswell) and husband David, and son David Richard Cogswell and wife Patrice. In addition he is survived by 2 grandchildren, Julie Leggieri (Weber) and husband Tony, and Daniel Weber and wife Melissa, also by two great granddaughters, Elizabeth and Samantha Leggieri.

Services: As per Ken's wishes, there will be no viewing or memorial service. Inurnment will be in the Columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery in the coming weeks.
