Kenneth Wray Sr.

Mr. Kenneth "Ken" Clyde Wray, Sr., 85, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Kline Hospice House. He was the husband of Paula Fitzgerald Wray his wife of 32 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy who died in 1977.

Born August 14, 1925 in Clawson, Michigan, he was the son of Roscoe, Sr. and Elizabeth Barnard Wray.

Mr. Wray served his Country in the U. S. Navy and the Naval Reserves retiring in 1975. He was a life member of the VFW Post #3285, the American Legion Post #11, the Fleet Reserve Association, the Elks Club #684 and the Worman’s Mill Civic Association. He retired from the Memorex Corp. in 1990 as Director of Customer Engineering for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Ken lived in Frederick since 1998 and was formerly of Potomac, MD. He celebrated his 20 ^th Birthday, on Guam, after being groomed to invade Japan, the day the Japanese surrendered.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Kenneth Wray, Jr. and wife Janet of VA, Donald Wray and wife Irene of PA, Frank Wray and wife Becky of TX, Janis Ellsworth and husband Warren of VA and Kathryn Wray of MD, two step-sons Lawrence Ryan and wife Gian of KY, Steven Ryan of VA, twenty-three grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a brother Frank Wray and wife Natalie of IL, sisters Fay Smith of CA, Geraldine Parent of FL. Linda Jones of MO and a daughter-in-law Paige Wray. He was preceded in death by a son Michael Wray and a brother Jim Wray, Jr.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD, Wednesday, November 3, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. where services will be held Thursday November 4, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim May officiating.

Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
