Kenneth L. Williams, age 88, of Smithsburg, MD, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, December 25, 2023 at Creekside Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. After suffering a stroke in April of 2021, Kenny had been a resident at the center for the past two and a half years.
Born July 12, 1935 in Sharpsburg, MD, he was the son of the late Paul R. and Eva Irene Taylor Williams. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Connie Lee Williams.
Kenny worked at Jamison’s Cold Storage, Maryland Correctional Training Center, and the Gowen Mobil Service, where he drove a mail transport truck.
He is survived by his son, Michael R. Williams and his wife, Jan, of Woodbridge, VA; his daughter, Kendra K. Kaetzel and her husband, Mark, of Rohrersville; five wonderful grandchildren; and four special great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Eugene Williams; and his son, Brett Kenneth Williams.
A visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and then a receiving of friends, with the family present, from 6 to 8 p.m. will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the funeral home in Boonsboro. Pastor Twyla Rowe will officiate. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made, in Kenny’s memory, to the Church of the Brethren, 15 S. Mulberry Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
