Kenneth Lee Wade, 83, of Boonsboro, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born on July 7, 1933, in Boonsboro, he was the son of the late Paul W. and Naomi (Sherley) Wade. He was the loving husband of Orpha Wade.
He was a graduate of the Boonsboro High School Class of 1951. He was a long time member of the Sons of American Legion Squadron 10 of the Boonsboro American Legion.
Ken was employed by the Jamison Door Company for eight years. He was Business Representative and Financial Secretary for the Carpenters Local Union 340. Ken was Secretary Treasurer/Business Manager of the Carpenters District Council of Baltimore and Vicinity and President of the Carpenters State Council of Maryland and Delaware.
Ken was President of the South County Democratic Club also having served six terms on the Washington County Economic Development Commission.
In addition to his wife, Orpha Wade, he is survived by son, Edward J. Wade and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Renné and Caleb; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Paul Wade, Jr.
He was preceded in death by siblings, David Wade and Nancy Derr.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28th at Victory Baptist Church in Boonsboro. His son, Pastor Edward J. Wade, will officiate. Interment will be at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 8014 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713.
