Kenneth Shorb

Mr. Kenneth P. Shorb, 78, of Thurmont, died on Monday December 24, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Betty J. Shorb.

Born on February 3, 1934 in Hanover, PA., he was the son of the late Perry H. and Edith Sickles Shorb.

As a child Kenneth was a member of First Baptist Church of Frederick.  He was a 1952 graduate of Frederick High School and then served in the  U. S. Air Force during  the Korean War. Ken was employed at Ft. Detrick, ECTC for 30 years until his retirement in 1985.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son Gregory A. Conley and wife Wendy R. of Thurmont. Grandchildren Austin J. and Jenna L. Conley. Three sisters Audrey DeGrange of Westminster, Doris McGaha of Frederick and Cindy Knott of Boyds. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty L. Burdette.

Visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Friday December 28, 2012 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday December 29, 2012. Pastor Jerry Price will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
