Kenneth A. Landry, 48, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 surrounded by his family at the University of Maryland Medical Center after an acute illness.  He was born on February 22, 1967 in Southbridge, MA. He graduated from Poolesville High School in 1985 and with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1993.  Upon graduation, he was commissioned in the US Public Health Service as a PT and cared for the marginalized in the Bureau of Prisons in Springfield, MO.  After discharge from the Public Health Service, he worked in local practices until finding his home 10 years ago with Tx:Team and Frederick Memorial Hospital.  Ken was a Maitland Fellow, a master orthopedic manual therapist and enjoyed both teaching and direct patient care.

Ken led an active and full life.  He was a member of his college soccer, tennis and ski teams.  Ken continued his love for sports throughout his life and was equally fond of fishing, boating and camping.  His son’ s involvement in ice hockey led him to become a Level II USA Hockey Coach and he was recently qualified as a Level I Referee.

Ken’s community activities included being a member of The Knights of Columbus (Council #14011 St. Katherine Drexel) and he was an active member of the local Masonic Lodge (Columbia Lodge #58 A.F. & A.M.).  While a Free Mason, Ken was a member of the Jacques DeMolay Commandery  #4 and was a Knights Templar.  His love for history guided his progression as a Mason and his interest in genealogy.

Ken is survived by his wife, Beth, their son, Andrew, and mother-in-law Kathy Lavender.  Also surviving are his parents Bob and Cathy Landry, his brother Bobby and wife Patty, God children Tommy Hinkle and Kelsie Landry, his nephew Chris and his wife Jen, and many other family, friends and colleagues who will miss him dearly.

He was predeceased by his sister, Michele M. Hinkle, and his grandparents Philip and Alice (Vautour) Landry of Lisbon, CT and Leroy and Mae (Kennedy) Campana of Bridgeport, CT.

Ken was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Frederick, MD. Visitation with the family will be at Stauffer Funeral Home on Opossumtown Pike on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 5-8 PM. A celebration of Ken’s life and a Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Keith Boisvert as officiant will be held at St. Timothy’s Church in Walkersville, MD at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.  Entombment in the Mount Olivet Mausoleum will be private.
