Kenneth Divel

Kenneth Divel, Sr. 69, of Adamstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at his home in Adamstown, MD surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 19, 1950, in Berkley County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Marshall  Divel and Elsie  (Stephenson) Divel.

He was married to Frances (Joan) Barthlow Divel for 50 years.

Kenneth worked for the city of Frederick for 18 years. He also was a member of the AmVets Post #2 for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kenneth Divel, Jr. and wife, Melanie of Adamstown, MD., William Divel and companion, Karla Gonzales of Midland, Texas,  Darrick Divel, Sr. and wife, Becky of Frederick, MD.; grandchildren, Brian, Jordan, Darrick, Jr., Kenny Wayne, Siara, James, Madeleine, Bethany, Autumn, Chase and his special adopted grandchildren, Brian Leizear, Shelby Renehan and Shannon Swisher; brother, Roger Divel of Cleveland, TN.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and all his adopted children, you know who you are.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Manning; brothers, Marshall, Jr., Robert, Herbert, Lloyd and Carroll Divel and grandson, Samuel (Sammy) Divel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.

Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Frederick County.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at the James Stockman Cancer Center and the nurses at the Hospice of Frederick County for their compassionate care .
