Mr. Kenneth Irvin Deener, 78, of Knoxville, MD., passed away, Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Janet Thompson Deener.
Born August 15, 1935 in Brownsville, MD., he was the son of the late Merle Grim and Ottalie V. Kitzmiller Deener.
Kenneth served his Country in the U.S. Army. He retired , after 26 yrs, from Eastalco and from Jenkins Tree Service after 15 yrs. In earlier years he created his own softball league “Deeners Tribe”. Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family, the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Orioles, camping , tree work, fishing and the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Dianna L. Jenkins, Kenneth M. Deener and Robert Curtis Deener and wife Cheryl, grandchildren Danielle Bardell, Daniel Gue, Tristen Deener, Erica K.. and Robert P. Deener, great grandchildren Blake Bardell and Liberty Wilson, siblings Juanita Smith, Robert L., Franklin and Merle Deener and Delores Rickerds. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Deener and a sister Geraldine Morris.
A Memorial service will be held at the Brownsville Church of the Brethren, Brownsville on Tuesday, September 17, at 12:00 Noon. Interment Brownsville Cemetery.
The family and friends will gather at the church after the service.
