Keith Wesley Howe, 64, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away unexpectedly on December 11, during a courageous battle with cardiac amyloidosis and multiple myeloma.

He was born on February 24, 1951, in Union City, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Richard B. Howe and Dorothy E. Howe, of Gaithersburg, MD.

He graduated in 1969 from Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, MD, and attended Montgomery Community College.

He worked as a draftsman, and for many years as a carpenter and construction superintendent in the Washington, DC and Alexandria, Virginia areas. He retired in July, after working several years as a self employed builder in the southern Washington County area.

He was a former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 20 in Boonsboro, MD, and a very active member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church. He was especially active with the Volunteers in Mission program, leading many mission trips to repair homes and churches from flood, tornado and hurricane damage, from Maine to Louisiana, from Kentucky to Puerto Rico and St. Croix.  He also worked locally to repair homes in Washington County and surrounding areas through the United Methodist Church, Community Action Council and Clear Spring Ministerium.  He volunteered many hours to design and coordinate volunteer and professional construction for a major renovation to Mt Nebo UMC. He enjoyed singing in the choir for over thirty five years.

He was the loving husband of Louise Howe, recently celebrating a fortieth wedding anniversary.  He was the proud father of Richard Howe, April Sprecher, and her husband, Jim, Daniel Howe, and his wife, Jaime, and Courtney Howe of Boonsboro, MD, Jonathan Howe of Arlington, VA and Matthew Howe, Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, MS. He delighted in his three grandchildren Ethan and Paige Howe, and Amelia Sprecher. He was the brother of R. Bernie Howe of Terra Alta, WV, Susan Howe of Frederick, MD,  and Esther Trevey of Keedysville, MD. He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, relatives, friends and church family.
