Kay Frances Wilson

Mrs. Kay Frances Wilson, 82, of Brunswick MD, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Country Meadows Retirement Community.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard (Gene) Wilson of 52 years.  

Born on March 17, 1941, in Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Lee Garrott, Sr. and Mary Frances Fry Garrott.

Kay was a longtime member of the New York Hill United Methodist Church and the New Hope United Methodist in Brunswick after they merged.  She was most happy when she was surrounded by her family, but most especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Kay had a love for reading and enjoyed watching NASCAR and golf with her husband, Gene.  She also enjoyed going to lunch with friends, church functions, and attending sports and school related events with her grandchildren.   

Kay is survived by her children, Karen Haugh and husband, Carroll, of Brunswick, Robin Thompson and husband, Claggie, of Frederick, Richard Wilson, Jr. and wife, Shirl (Mindy), of Knoxville; grandchildren,  Jessica Higgins (Chuck), Ashley Shriver (Ricky), Jason Thompson (Kandice), Brandon Thompson (Kelsey), Nicholas Thompson (Corryn), Zachary Thompson, and Kaylee and Abby Wilson and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Hauver, Kristi Hawes (Drew) and Darlene Curbow (Jeff); and sisters-in-law, Rose Garrott and Doris Wilson.  

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Steve and Clifford Garrott Jr; and also by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick.

A celebration of Kay's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Stauffer Funeral Home in Brunswick. Rev. Katie O'Hern Hamilton will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will be held at Samples Manor Cemetery in  Sharpsburg.
