Kathy Shantz

Kathy Sue Shantz, 65, of Sharpsburg, passed from this life on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Born on January 21, 1956, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Lee Elwood Adkins and Mona Jean (Reeder) Adkins.

Kathy was a 1974 graduate of Boonsboro High School then went on to graduate from Hagerstown Business College as a phlebotomist. She was employed by Hagerstown Lab Corp now Meritus Medical Center located at the Boonsboro Lappans Road location.

She loved pets, especially dogs and cats. Kathy loved springtime with flowers blooming and planting a garden.

In addition to her parents, she will be missed by her dear friend of 22 years, Rod Walters of Sharpsburg; her two daughters, Stephanie Dawn Shantz of Martinsburg, and Sarah Elizabeth Bower of Big Pool; her grandchildren, Mason, and Avery; and several cousins.

Services will be private.
