Kathleen (Kathy) Gallagher-Icard, 53, of Cockeysville Md, beloved mother to two children, passed away suddenly, leaving behind to her family years of wonderful memories and love.
Kathy was born on February 23rd, 1971, to Wade and Rita Gallagher in Silver Spring, MD.. Kathy was raised on Jennings Chapel Road in Woodbine Md. and cherished the time spent there with her family, childhood friends, and children. After graduating from Elon University in 1993, Kathy landed her first job at Executone then went on to a successful 17-year career at Nextel/Sprint where Kathy established herself as one of the top Sales Executives in the country.
Kathy was a devoted mother to Connor and John, who were her pride and joy. Kathy took immense pleasure in supporting both sons’ academics, extracurricular activities, and was their biggest football fan. Kathy took great delight in watching the boy’s grow up into young men and took happiness in how they reflected the best of her.
Kathy had a special place in her heart for animals and she knew the joy that came from the special bond with them over the years. Jordan and Tara her “found” Golden Retrievers; Lucy her Black Lab best friend; Charlie, Winston, MeMe, and Bebe her rescue cats; and Finny her faithful and loving Beagle mix all provided unwavering devotion to Kathy.
Kathy enjoyed being in nature and taking walks around Oregon Ridge Park, NCR Trail, and Greencroft with her family, friends, and pets.
Kathy is survived by her children, John, and Connor; her parents Wade and Rita Gallagher; her brother Wade Gallagher and his wife Belinda; her brother Patrick Gallagher and his wife Kris along with Michael, Patrick, and Katelyn; and several nieces and nephews.
