Katherine Fisher
October 10, 1920 — January 5, 2015
Mrs. Katherine E. (DeLaughter) Fisher, of Hagerstown, Maryland and formerly of Myersville, Maryland, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family at Meritus Medical Center on Monday January 5, 2015. Her husband of 74 years, Russell H. Fisher, preceded her in death on January 11, 2014.
Born on October 10, 1920, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Bessie (Houck) DeLaughter.
She was a member of Victory Christian Center in Frederick, where she was very active in the church serving the Lord.
She worked for many years at J.C. Penney's and Vindabona Nursing Home in Braddock Heights, Maryland.
She is survived by her three children, Dorothy LaBrush and husband Paul and Russell “Bob” Fisher and wife Alicia, all of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Larry Fisher and wife Sue of Keedysville, Maryland; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two sisters, Esther Martz and husband Harold Sr., and Lottie Showalter and husband Melvin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Richard; a nephew, Harold Jr.; and a niece, Brenda.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2015, at 10 a.m. until the service begins at 11 a.m. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Alan M. Smith will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Harmony Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Myersville.
