Karl Heurich

Mr. Karl Frederick Heurich,77 , of Frederick, MD passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, after a long battle with leukemia, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Wanda Heurich for 55 years.

Born August 30, 1937 in Connellsville, PA he was the son of the late Charles E. and Alma C. Thompson Heurich.

Karl was a 1955 graduate from Clairton High School, PA and also attended Grove City College, PA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1958-1963. Karl was a 50 year member of the Pleasant Hill Guthrie Masonic Lodge, and a 30 year member of the Rajah Shriners of Ali Ghan Temple. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and also active with the Boy Scouts, serving as an Assistant Scout Master. Karl's hobbies included traveling, both by railroad and boat, target shooting, the Pittsburgh Steelers, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Chuck Heurich and wife Marti and Barbara Pierce and husband Will; grandchildren Brittany Hipkins and husband Seth, Andrew Pierce, Hillary Pierce, Emilee Pierce, Delaney Heurich and Cori Heurich.

A memorial service will be held at the Walkersville United Methodist Church, 22 Main St., Walkersville,MD, on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 3PM. Pastor Richard Baker will officiate.
