Karina Josephine Lopez

Our precious little angel, Karina Josephine Lopez, incredibly beloved daughter of Alexandra Smith of Frederick, MD passed away at the age of 2 on December 20, 2022.

From the day Karina was born on August 17, 2020, she was the light of each life she touched. Her beaming smile and bubbly personality offered an intangible and indescribable joy to anyone who bore witness. Karina loved spending time with her family and took great pleasure in activities such as adventuring, reading, and playing. Karina was the human embodiment of all that is good in the world: love, joy, peace, laughter, happiness.

In leaving this world, Karina is leaving behind an unfathomable amount of emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her. This is a true measurement of the impact she was able to make on the world in just two short years. In addition to her parents, Alexandra Smith and Carlos Lopez, this list includes her grandparents, Christina Magnanelli, William Magnanelli, Alex Smith, Mary Smith, Claudia Hernandez, and Manuel Hernandez; her great grandparents, Patricia Wolcott, and Josephine Smith; her great-great grandmother, Janet Clark, and numerous other family members and close friends.

The viewing is scheduled for 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, December 30th at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 31st at 11:00 am at Mountain View Community Church, 8330 Fingerboard Road, 21703. Family and friends are welcome to a gathering with refreshments immediately after the service at Buckeystown United Methodist Church, 3440 Buckeystown, MD 21703.
