It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Patricia Williams announces her sudden passing, on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at the age of 70 years.
Karen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Keston Williams and her sons, Jeffrey and Jason, and also by her four granddaughters, Delaney, Emma, Tina, and Tessa; her siblings, Charles Carpenter, Denise Carpenter, and Elane Castellano; and her extended family and dear friends.
Daughter of Charles and Patricia Carpenter, Karen studied nursing at the Capital City School of Nursing, and worked for the majority of her career in the neonatal intensive care unit at Montgomery General Hospital before retiring in 2008. Those who knew her will miss her selflessness and kindness that knew no bounds. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. A friend to everyone she met, all who experienced her warmth and compassion were better for having known and loved her.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home at 8 East Ridgeville Boulevard, Mt. Airy, MD 21771. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, September 22 at 1 p.m. also at Stauffer Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
A private interment ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in memory of Karen to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
