Karen Lynn Shiblie, age 52, formerly of Frederick, MD, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020. She married George Shiblie on June 13, 1992 in Silver Spring. She worked at Carroll Manor Elementary School for the last 10-years. Karen’s greatest joy in life came from serving others. She devoted her life to connecting with children with special needs and anyone who just needed a friend.
Karen was a self-proclaimed revered opera singer, cheese connoisseur, and master at losing her car keys. She was a one-of-a-kind woman that added spice to everyone’s life. Not one person who ever met her walked away without at least one good story. She was never afraid to lay a helping hand, even to those who didn’t know they needed it, and inspiring others to do the same. She has become a beacon of positivity in all our lives, and will continue to from heaven.
She is survived by her husband George, sons Nicholas (Nik) and Lucas, and grandson Gabriel. Also, survived by her mother Roberta (Bobbi), brother George (Chip), sister Kim, aunts Terrie and Emogene, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She has many family members and friends in the community who loved her.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Karen touched are invited to celebrate her life at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702, from 5pm to 8pm on Sunday, October 4, 2020 with a funeral service being held at 7:15 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests to make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospita l.
