Karen S. Lane, 50 of Frederick, Maryland, A. passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018. Born on February 1, 1968, in Washington DC, she is the daughter of Beverly Snyder Demmler and the late Roger Snyder. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Andrew B. Plummer. Karen was preceded in death by one sister, Linda P. Synder. Karen S. Lane was a passionate, inspiring and talented member of the FrederickTowne Players family for many years, often referring to FtP as her second family. Karen served on the FtP board in almost every capacity for the last 12+ years. She worked behind the scenes directing 3 musicals as well as producing and starring in many other productions throughout the years. Karen had a way of making people feel comfortable and welcome almost instantly. Her ability to identify and nurture a persons talents, often before they recognized it in themselves, was second to none. Her impact reached far beyond FtP, as she made a lasting impression on everyone that she met. Karen was a trained opera singer who performed all over Baltimore, Frederick and the entore DC Metro area. On stage she is best know for her portrayal of Ms. Hannigan in Annie with FtP and Mamma Mortin in Chicago with Kensington Arts Theater (KAT), for which she won the Ruby Griffith Award. Her family will receive friends Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 5 p.m. with her service to follow at 6 p.m. at Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 5740 Green Valley Rd, New Market, MD 21774.
