Mrs. Karen Sherry Hughes, 55 of Woodbine, MD., died on Sunday September 26, 2010. She was the loving wife of John D. Hughes, Jr.
Born on December 13, 1954 in Riverdale, she was the daughter of Joan S. Lockwood Wright of Hyattsville and the late William Paul Wright.
She was the devoted mother of Kevin, Colleen, Patrick, and Matthew Hughes. Daughter of Joan S. Wright and the late William Paul Wright of Hyattsville, MD. Sister of Kim S. Cable of Brunswick, MD and Kristina S. Wright of Columbia, MD. Sister in law of Mary Ellen Hughes of Laurel, MD; Sheila M. Hughes of Seaford, DE; Larry R. Cable of Brunswick, MD.
Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. Mt. Airy, MD. A funeral Mass will be held on October 1, 2010 at 11am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1125 St. Michael’s Rd., Mt, Airy, MD. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Michael’s Cemetery. A reception will be held in the hall at St. Michael’s following interment.
In accordance with Karen’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her sister, Kim S. Cable at 807 4
