Mrs. Karen Lee Forney, 47, of Thurmont, MD, died suddenly on March 18, 2012. She was the wife of Larry Forney, her husband of 22 years.
Born July 20, 1964, in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of James and Doris Danner of Thurmont.
Karen was a kind-hearted person who loved animals and people. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She is also survived by three sisters, Debbie Burrier and husband Barry of Rocky Ridge, MD, Jana Biser and husband Paul of Fairfield, PA, and Sharon Baker and husband Bobby of Thurmont, MD; nieces Laurie Atwell and husband Tim, Sarah Biser, Miranda Baker, and Samantha Biser; nephew Dustin Baker; and great-nephew Colton Atwell.
There will be no visiting or calling at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 22, at 11:00 a.m., at Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont. Bishop John Kippen will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Frederick County Animal Control and Adoption Center, 1832 Rosemont Avenue, Frederick, MD 21702 or to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Attn: Stake President, 199 North Place, Frederick, MD, 21701.
