Karen Copeland

Mrs. Karen A. Copeland, 80, of Monrovia, MD went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at her home peacefully. She was the wife of late and beloved husband, Ronald E. Copeland.

Born on May 11, 1940 in Washington D.C. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Elaine Roche Kirkley. She was also the sister of the late Michaell Kirkley.

Karen was a former employee of the Food and Drug Administration and spent most of her life being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed camping, attending church, shopping, and spending time with her family. She had a pure heart and never failed to make someone smile.

She is survived by her three children: Richard Copeland and wife Margie of Virginia, Larry Copeland and wife Joanne of West Virginia, Lynn Dunn and husband Steve of Maryland, son-in-law Geoffrey Vale of Maryland, and daughter-in-law Barbara Hatfield of Maryland. Karen also had two late children, Kevin J. Deel and Victoria E. Vale. 11 Grandchildren: Eric Copeland, Lewis Bennett, Gary Hatfield, Julia Northrop, Kelsey Dunn, Alan Vale, Karen Fleming, Rachel Vale, Steven Dunn, William Vale, and Ethan Dunn. Great-grandchildren: Parker Bennett, Ryan Copeland, Isabella Dunn, Josephine Northrop, Eliza Northrop, Ivy Copeland, Verona Northrop, Wade Bennett, Boston Jones, Claire Jones, and Reese Dunn.

Family will receive friends from 2-4pm on Sunday, October 11 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy, MD 21771.

Graveside services and interment will take place at 2pm on Monday, October 12 at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reading, PA.
