Justin Johnson

Justin Leon "Juck" Johnson, 89, of Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg, died on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital.

Born on June 3, 1920 in Dargan, MD, he was a son of the late Daniel Edward and Viola Belle (Zimmerman) Johnson.  His wife, Dorothy Virginia (Martin) Johnson preceded him in death on September 23, 2006.

Jack worked as a self-employed dairy farmer.  He was a member of Samples Manor Church of God and the A.A.R.P.

He is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Gay and her husband Orvel of Dargan; two grandsons, Denny Ingram and his wife Pam, and Stevie Ingram and his wife Shannon, all of Dargan; five great-grandchildren, Stevie, Jennifer, Beefie, Brittany and Kelly; and three great-great-grandchildren, Damian, Emma and Haley.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by four sisters, Pearl Holmes, Dola Poffenberger, Irene Johnson and Beatrice Ingram; and three brothers, Arthur Johnson, Charles Johnson and Robert Johnson.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Samples Manor Church of God, Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg.  The Rev. Kenneth W. Johnson will officiate.  Burial will be in the Samples Manor Cemetery.

Friends may visit beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2009 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.  There will also be viewing at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
