Mrs. Junne Martin, 86, of Adamstown, Maryland and formerly of Kalamazoo, Michigan, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Buckingham's Choice. She was the wife of David Martin.
Born July 10, 1925 in Goshen, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Eric and Grace Hayden Erickson.
Early in her career, she worked in the Orientation department of Western Michigan University directing and assisting incoming new students. Junne graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. degree in Communications and was an at-home mother until her children were in their teens.
She was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and was secretary of the National Orientation Society. Mrs. Martin was a collector of Hummel figurines and cardinals. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo. In 2001, she and her husband moved from Kalamazoo to Buckingham's Choice.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Susan Studds and husband, Jeff, of Hyattsville; a son, Eric Martin and wife, Caroline McCall, of California; and three grandchildren, John Martin Studds of Hyattsville, and Lucas Martin and Julia Martin, both of California..
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Buckingham's Choice.
