June Mabry

Mrs. June Elizabeth (Manuel) Mabry, 83, passed away on November 14, 2017 at her home in Mt. Airy.  She was born on January 24, 1934 in Washington, D.C.  She grew up in Beltsville, MD and was a member of the first graduating class of High Point High School.  At the age of 5, she met the love of her life, the late Willard Monroe Mabry, Sr.  They were married in 1953, the same year she was crowned Miss Beltsville.  June is survived by her two sons, Willard Monroe Mabry, Jr. (Rocky), daughter-in-law Linda Mabry, son Frank Ashby Mabry and Karen Rader, grandchildren Justin Mabry, Brandon Mabry and wife Cristina, Daniel Mabry and wife Ashley, Kari Mabry Magruder and husband Keith, Kimberly Mabry and Scott Fowler; great-grandchildren Luke, Greyson, Juliana and Coleton.

Mrs. Mabry was a long time member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Mt. Airy and regularly attended God's Kitchen on Thursdays.  She loved her coffee, and visits from family and friends bringing her a cup.  She also enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, scrap booking, quilting, bowling, cheering on the Nationals and Redskins, caring for her dog, Barney and putting puzzles together.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, with visitation between 9:30 and 10, and service to follow at Calvary United Methodist Church, 403 S. Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD, 21771, Reverend Deb Scott will officiate.

Inurnment will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, with a reception to follow.
