Julie Mackley

Mrs. Julie Ann Magaha Mackley,64 , of Thurmont, MD died on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of James L. "Buzz" Mackley. They were married for 39 years.

Born October 14, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Douglas W. Magaha and Mary Joan Swope Magaha.

Nanny loved to spend time with her grandchildren and was always found doing her best to spoil the kids. She loved vacationing at the beach, going on cruises, traveling, spending time at the river cabin, and with her friends. She was a caregiver to her grandparents, her parents, her mother-in-law, her sisters-in-law and her friends. She was Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #168.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children Amy L. Donahue and husband Andrew. David A. Mackley and wife Kelly and Todd D. Mackley. She has five grandchildren, Breanna Mackley, Kylie Mackley, James Mackley, Raiden Donahue and Gannon Donahue. She is also survived by sister Beth Shelley and husband Scott and her brother Patrick Magaha and wife Kim. Sisters-in-law Helen Mackley, Martha Mackley, and Dorothy Mackley. There are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by friends, Edward F. Athey, Marie Brennan, Alice Eyler and many others.

The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 2-4PM and 6-8:30PM where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29 at 11AM.

Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery.
