Julia Naomi Flook, 51 of Ijamsville, MD died Saturday, September 13 at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She was the wife of John D. Flook. They were married on August 18, 1979 and have been married for 29 years.

Born November 2, 1956 in Frederick she was the daughter of Glenn Brubaker of Ijamsville and the late Bertie Bussard Brubaker.

She was a member of the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren in Monrovia and attended Locust Grove Church of the Brethren in Mt. Airy, MD.

She graduated from Prospect Hall High School. She previously worked for the Maryland State Highway Administration and she was employed with the Frederick County Board of Education Food Service.

She was a member of the Urbana Fire Department. She loved and admired her new grandson, crafts, quilting, knitting and going to livestock auctions. She had a great love for her farm animals, especially her goats.

In addition to her loving husband John and her father Glenn she is survived by her two daughters, Jodie Grove and husband Daniel of Frederick, Jessica Flook of Ijamsville, one grandson, Jackson Grove of Frederick, a sister, Ruth B. Cline of Frederick and her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Bertie Bussard Brubaker, a sister, Daisy Brubaker and her brother-in-law, Ronald Cline.

The family wants to give a special thanks to Dr. Kanan Hudhud and all of the nurses and staff at the Frederick Cancer Care Center.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, September 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821 Green Valley Rd., Monrovia on Thursday September 18 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wayne Hall, Rev. Wallace Lusk and Rev. Charles Beekly officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at the Bush Creek Church.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 13356 Glissans Mill Rd., Mt. Airy MD 21771.
