Julia "Libby" Elizabeth (Coulter) Cronise, 93, of Winchester, Virginia and formerly of Boonsboro, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 5, 2010 while surrounded by her family.
Born on March 29, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Milton S. and Ida Bell (Deener) Coulter. Her husband, Bruce E. Cronise, Sr. preceded her in death in 1954.
Julia and her husband owned and operated Cronise Express in Boonsboro for many years. She later retired from Canter Oil Company in Winchester where she worked as a bookkeeper.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 824 in Winchester and the Woman of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
Libby will be best remembered for her passion for dancing.
She is survived by her son, Bruce E. Cronise, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Winchester; many nieces and nephews; and many grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Julia was preceded in death by her sister Ruth E. Favorite; and her three brothers Lee V., Austin M. and Edward W. Coulter.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
Friends may visit beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
