Judith (Judy) Goetz

Judith "Judy" I. Goetz, 66, of Boonsboro, Maryland went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Born on March 28, 1944 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Dean and Helen (Chambers) Shiffler.

Judy was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro, where she was a member of the Women's Group.

She is survived by her husband, Norman F. Goetz; her five children, Douglas C. Bane, Jr. of Williamsport, Maryland, William K. Bane and his wife Roni of Boonsboro, Scott A. Shiffler and his wife Diane of Altoona, Jeffrey P. Goetz and his wife Louise of Houston, Texas and Jennifer A. and her husband Roger Nickodam of Hopewell, Virginia; her two sisters, Patty and her husband David Malone and Diana and her husband Tim Ferry, all of Altoona; and her four brothers, Fred Shiffler and his wife Christine of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, David Shiffler and his wife Dottie of Williamsville, New York, Steve Shiffler and his wife Marty and Randy Shiffler, all of Altoona.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and her best friend for 50 years, Judi Stellabotte of Williamsport, Maryland.

Judy was preceded in death by her son Norman F. Goetz, Jr. in 1988.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, 134 South Main Street, Boonsboro.  Rev. Robert G. Brennan, Jr. will officiate.  Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Friends are invited to visit beginning at 12 noon on Monday, October 4, 2010 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church Building Fund.
