Judith A. Evangelista

Judith A. Evangelista, 74, of Frederick, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Frederick Health Hospital. Born on June 26, 1950, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of John Evangelista and Mary (Roup) Evangelista.

Ms. Evangelista worked as an addiction counselor for the State of Maryland at Mountain Manor Mental Treatment in Emmitsburg for more than 30 years, and continued to do so even after retiring with her last day being February 3rd. She was well loved there for all the work she had done with others who were going through a difficult time.

When not working, Judith enjoyed reading, playing cards, and playing bingo with friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Rosa Lee Evangelista; two sons: Joseph Carl Evangelista and Larry Scott; a brother, Robert Evangelista.  She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne McDowell, and her brothers Gregory Evangelista and Johnathan Evangelista.  The family will receive friends on Monday, March 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home, Deacon Michael Currens to officiate.
