Juanita Irene Carter, 93, of Chambersburg, PA has transitioned into her new life on Monday, July 24, 2017.
Born on March 27, 1924, in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late James Fairbanks Stewart and Violet (Jackson) Stewart.
She graduated from William Penn High School and worked for the Naval Depot for many years. After 28 years of dedicated service, she retired from the Philadelphia Police
Department as a Telecommunications Operator. Although Juanita retired, she continued to work until she was 83 years old as a tutor at the Philadelphia
School System. This program was sponsored by Temple University. As a Tutor, Juanita enjoyed working with the youth assisting them in math and reading.
She was also a devout church member at St. Augustine Church as well as Annunciation BVM Church.
Juanita truly loved being with her family, they were the center of her life and will be missed immensely.
She is survived by daughter, Lynne Gaither; grandsons, Reginald Mark Green and Christopher Vincent Talmadge; granddaughter, Tenisha Flagg;
great grandchildren, Khalil Owens, Arianna Green, Dayna Flagg, Drew Flagg, Donovan Flagg; and a special thanks to, Michael J. Jackson, who provided loving support in many ways.
A celebration of Juanita's life will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Tribe of Judah Word Ministry Church, 21226 San Mar Road Boonsboro, MD 21713.
Apostle Donald Kretzer, Sr. will officiate.
