Juan Tomas Salcedo Bisono

Juan Tomas Salcedo Bisono, “Tomas/Bisono,” 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21st, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born May 11th, 1940, in San Jose de Las Matas, Dominican Republic, he was the son of Jovino Salcedo and Amelia Dolores Salcedo Bisono.  “Tomas/Bisono,”, as his family and friends called him, grew up with 14 siblings, Manuel, Che, Milagros, Elsa, Carmen, Jovino, Eulalia, Angel, Goto, +Negrito, +Juanin, +Niña, +Consuelo and +Felix.

He joined the Marines at 19 and became an electrician in the Dominican Republic.  “Tomas/Bisono,” worked as a carpenter and in agriculture in San Jose de Las Matas. 

 
After leaving the Marines at 27, he worked as an electrician.  “Tomas/Bisono,” enjoyed supporting his grandchildren, watching baseball, Animal Planet, and solving crossword puzzles.  
Upon his retirement, “Tomas/Bisono,” moved to San Jose de Las Matas and enjoyed playing dominos with his friends and spending time outdoors with his family.

“Tomas/Bisono,” is survived by his three sons, Juan Carlos Salcedo, Santos Mieses and Camilo Salcedo; one daughter, Lisa Compres and son-in-law Winston Compres, daughter-in-law Lily Salcedo, Rogeria Tom Mieses; grandchildren, Alexandra Salcedo, Amanda Nicole Salcedo, Vanessa Compres, Catheryne Compres, Amelya Compres, Alexander Mieses, Sebastian Mieses, Gabriel Mieses, and Tiago Mieses as well as beloved siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.  

A celebration of Juan Tomas’s beautiful life will occur at Stauffer Funeral Homes on Monday, January 29th, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.  

A service will follow at 11:00 am, and burial services will take place at the All-Souls Cemetery 11401 Brink Road, Germantown, Maryland 20876.
