Joyce Sharer

Joyce Louise Sharer, 73, beloved daughter of the late Harry L. Sharer Sr. and Marie Krietz Sharer, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Northampton Nursing Home, Frederick, MD.
Joyce was born on May 12, 1944, in Thurmont, MD. She is preceded in her death by her brother, Robert (Bob) Sharer Sr., sister-in-law, Linda Sharer and great-nephew, Andrew Eiker.
Joyce is survived by her two sisters; Ann Fraley and husband, Joe of Thurmont, and Lottie Trigg and her husband, Wayne of Frederick; one brother, Harry (Butch) Sharer Jr. of Thurmont, and a beloved sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sharer of Thurmont. She is also survived by many generations of nieces & nephews.
Joyce was employed at Mt. St. Mary’s College, Emmitsburg, MD, for nearly 30 years as a baker and cook in the student union dining room and then in the priest’s kitchen. She was an amazing home cook and baker. Joyce enjoyed being surrounded by her family, friends and helping others.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, at the Stauffer Funeral Home in Thurmont, MD. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 22, at Stauffer Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
