Joyce Elaine Rippeon Sigler, 73, of Frederick died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Born on April 17, 1950, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow W. Rippeon and Margaret A. Fogle Rippeon.
Joyce was a 1968 alumni of Linganore High School and was a member of the LHS marching band. After a dedicated 33 year career with Frederick County Public Schools as an administrative assistant, she retired in 2013, having held the same position her entire career.
She was a lifelong member of Grace “Rocky Hill” Lutheran Church. In her younger years, she was a bowler in several area leagues and after retirement became a loyal yard sale shopper. She enjoyed many bus trips, cruises and any dog or cat she encountered. Also, a lover of all things Disney.
Joyce was a strong independent woman who raised her two daughters as a single mom. To continue her legacy, she leaves behind Jennifer Boley, husband Steven and Samantha Poore, husband Michael. Including her six grandchildren; James, Nicole, Emma (fiancée Brianna), Zackery, Sabrina and Darick. She will also be missed by her breakfast crew at Masser’s and Mountain View Diner as well as her four-legged princess, Fluffy. She was preceded in death by her companion of more than 15 years, Bill Goode, on April 1, 2024.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
A celebration of Joyce's life journey will take place at 11 am on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church,10825 Coppermine Road in Woodsboro, MD. Rev. Ronald Brown will officiate. Interment will be at Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church Cemetery in Woodsboro, MD.
