Joyce Fidelia Kaetzel

Joyce Fidelia Kaetzel, 87, of Boonsboro, MD, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. 

She was born on September 5th, 1936 in Taneytown, MD. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Wells Kaetzel and the late Katheryne Gilbert Kaetzel. 

Joyce was a 1954 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She was also a graduate of the University of Maryland earning a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Master’s degree in Education. She retired in 1989 after working for 30 years as a Professor of Nursing at the University of Maryland School of Nursing for 14 years and Catonsville Community College for 16 years.

Joyce was a lifelong member of the Boonsboro Bible Church where she served as the teacher of the Sunshine Sunday School Class for many years. Over the years, she also served as organist, librarian, and church historian.

Joyce will be greatly missed by the Stevens, Welty and Kern families. 

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Boonsboro Cemetery. Rev. Allen Robinson will officiate. 

Memorial donations, in Joyce’s memory, may be made to Boonsboro Bible Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
