Joyce Ann Gosnell

Joyce Ann Gosnell, 71, of Mount Airy, suddenly passed from this life on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Frederick Health Hospital. 

Born on May 16, 1953, at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Gosnell and Ann Yvonne Burns Gosnell. 

Joyce was a research technician at Ft. Detrick. After her retirement she worked as a physical therapist aide at Domser and Plummer in Mt. Airy. 

She enjoyed classic rock, gardening, reading books and swimming; she was a breast cancer survivor and a tissue donor. Joyce was kind, caring and just a great person. 

She is survived by sister, Robin Hubble of Mt. Airy; nephews: Andy Hubble, Daniel Hubble and wife Stephanie, Scott Hubble and wife Amber; great nieces and nephews: Reagan, Kayleigh, Colton, Cameron, Damien, Vincent and Max as well as her many cousins and friends; and her aunt, Kitty Lowman and uncle "Nip" Burns. Joyce was preceded in death by aunts Nancy Alexander and Joan Burns and her uncle, Courtney Burns and wife Delores.  

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Friday, July 12, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt Airy where a celebration of Joyce's life will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
