Joyce D. Arrowood 66, of Mount Airy, passed away on December 7, 2012 at the Kline Hospice Mount Airy, MD. She is the wife of Tommy Arrowood.
She was born on August 11, 1946 in Charleston, SC. She was the daughter of the late Hoyt and Ruth Jones Morrison.
She was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid Orioles and Redskins Fan. She had worked for Northampton Manor as a receptionist and also for Linganore High School as a Cashier.
In addition to her husband she is also survived by her children; Jeff Cheeks and wife Suzie of Mt. Airy, Bob Cheeks and wife Kristal of Westminster, Kimberly Bennett and husband John of Fairfield, PA., Tommy Arrowood and wife Chris of Fairfield, PA., Jason Arrowood of Martinsburg, WV., and Jamie Arrowood and wife Melody of Georgia. Brother Hoyt Morrison of Virginia and James Morrison of North Carolina. Sisters Barbara Foster of South Carolina, Brenda Svehla of Ellicott City and Peggy Edens of Mt. Airy. Grandmother of 19 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers Marshall, Jack and Richard Howard.
Visitation will be held on Monday December 10, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., Mt. Airy, MD. 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday December 11, 2012 at the Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 1402 North Main Street, Mt. Airy, MD 21771. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
