Mr. Joseph P. Petisi 89, of Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday,October 25, 2011 at the Lorein in Mt. Airy.
Born August 22, 1922 in Rochester, NY he was the son of the late Vincent and Frances Petisi.
He served in the US Navy.
He retired as a chemist from Celanese Chemical Corporation in New York. He was a member of the VFW and the Italian American Club both in Palm Coast, Florida. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by his daughter, Elaine Lazzaro and husband Bill of Mt. Airy, a daughter Kathleen Mathews and husband James of New Jersey and a son, Robert Petisi and wife Carolena of Connecticut, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen, two brothers, Paul Petisi and Sam Petisi, a sister, Marie Manfre.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 5-6PM.
