Mrs. Josephine M. Stevens, 86, of Martinsburg, WV, formerly of Frederick, MD, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late Rudolph “Rudy” Stevens.
Born on March 22, 1925 in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late Leo P. and Mary R. Weddle Gentile.
Prior to her retirement, Josephine was employed as a factory worker for American Optical. She enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, playing the slot machines at the casinos and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children James Stevens of Baltimore, Ronald Stevens and wife Sandra of Martinsburg, Robert Stevens and wife Anita of Laurel and Richard Stevens and wife Eva of Myersville; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her brother Edward Gentile, her sister Dorothy Swomley and daughter-in-law Debra Stevens.
Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9PM on Wednesday, June 22 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick where services will be held on Thursday, June 23 at 2PM.
Pastor Glen MacLean will officiate.
Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
