Josephine Elizabeth O'Neal Smith, age 75, of S. Main St., Boonsboro, MD, died Monday, July 1, 2008, at NMS Healthcare of Hagerstown.
Born March 7, 1933 near Middletown, MD, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Clemma Holmes O'Neal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Levan "Chick" Smith Sr. on Jan. 12, 2007.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church at Locust Grove.
She is survived by three sons, Robert L. Smith Jr. of Williamsport, MD, Steven A. Smith of Boonsboro, and Terry L. Smith of Chambersburg, PA; one sister, Patsy Palmer of Brunswick, MD; one brother, Donald O'Neal of Locust Grove; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Reeder, Mary Jane Sines and Doris O'Neal; one brother, Ralph O'Neal Jr. and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Monday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, PA, in Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert L. Martin will officiate. Private burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
