Josephine Palmer

Josephine Virginia (Teach) Palmer, 91, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on January 9, 2017
Born on July 14, 1925, in Marlowe, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Lillie M. (Cornell) Teach. Her husband, Roland Roscoe Palmer, preceded her in death in 1989.
Josephine attended High School in Williamsport, Maryland.
She retired in 1983 after 15 years from Dorbee Manufacturing in Hagerstown, MD.
Josephine was a member and secretary of AARP in Funkstown, Maryland, Senior Citizens Group of Manor Church for 20 years and the American Legion Post #10 Ladies Auxillary for 40 years.
She is survived by one son, Dennis W. Palmer and wife Shawn of Boonsboro; one daughter, Patricia Neary and husband Ronald of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; and four grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle Neary, Michele Bingham, and Tara Kay. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Brady and Brett Bingham, Olivia and Jillian Neary, and Abby and Drew Kay.
In addition to her parents and husband, Josephine was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Anthony and Dorothy Bernheisel; and her brother Harry Teach, as well as an infant brother.
A funeral ceremony will be held on January 14, 2017, at 12:30 p.m., Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Dr. Ray Roberson will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on January 13, 2017 at the funeral home.
