Josephine Fleming

April 12, 1922 — November 29, 2010

Mrs. Josephine F. Fleming, 88 of Rockville, MD went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Woodrow Fleming.

Born April 12, 1922 in Clinchco, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dortha Baker.

Josephine was an active member of Viers Mill Baptist Church where she was previously a Sunday school teacher.

She was also a school teacher in Virginia and a cafeteria worker for Montgomery County.

She loved her family, friends and church.  She enjoyed bowling and playing bingo.

She is survived by a son, Thomas Fleming and wife Deborah of Mt. Airy, a daughter, Jan Roberts and husband Joe of Frederick, ten grandchildren, Richard, James, Jenny, David, Tom, Shirley, Scott, Michael, Amanda and Danielle, 22 great grandchildren, two sisters, Vivian Pitts and Billie White. She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She is preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Roberts, two brothers, Joseph Baker and James Baker and two sisters, Mary Baker and Naomi Wynn.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy on Wednesday, December 1 st from 6:00-9:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 2 nd at 11:00 AM at the Viers Mill Baptist Church, 12221 Viers Mill Road, Silver Spring, MD with Rev. Robert Wilson officiating.

Interment will be in Parklawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Viers Mill Baptist Church, 12221 Viers Mill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20906.
