Josephine Detrow

Josephine Catherine (Kephart) Detrow , 96, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Fahrney - Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Maryland.  She was the beloved wife of the late Markwood Leon Detrow.

Born on March 23, 1925, in Mapleville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Sadie V. (Shoemaker) Kephart.

Josephine was a member of Mt. Lena United Methodist Church. She was employed at the “Spot Restaurant” located in Mt. Lena, Maryland. She also provided home cleaning services. Josephine loved her garden, feeding birds and taking in stray cats.  Josephine was independent and managed her home until the time of her stay at Fahrney Keedy.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews and longtime friend Jean Stottlemyer.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters Bessie J. Hoffman and Frances Naomi Summers and her special friend and partner Paul Alvin Myers September 7, 2013.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 am and then the interment service at 11:30 am at the Mt. Lena United Methodist Church Cemetery located at 21234 Mt Lena Rd Boonsboro MD 21713.
