Joseph Webb

Joseph Myron Webb, 98, of Williamsport, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Homewood Retirement Village at Williamsport.

Born on July 16, 1916 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Ernest Elisha and Inez (Stone) Webb. His wife, Frances O. Webb, preceded him in death on September 3, 1988.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army.

Joseph was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

He was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge 378 in Hagerstown, Maryland, the Dixon-Troxell American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown, Maryland, and he was also active with the Boy Scouts of America. Joseph was also a member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church.

He is the last surviving member of his immediate family and will be fondly remembered by his niece, Jean Lippy of Baltimore, and her family.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

A graveside funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at the Boonsboro Cemetery in Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Homewood Retirement Village Activities Center, 16505 Virginia Avenue, Williamsport, Maryland, 21795.
