Mr. Joseph E. Reed, Sr., 81 of Frederick, Maryland passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born January 5, 1933 in Montgomery County, Maryland he was the son of the late Mary Sullivan Reed and James Reed.
Mr. Reed is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Reed, his loving children Joseph Reed, Jr., Virginia Beck, Franklin Reed, Larry Haga and Jeff Haga; grandchildren Lindsay Beck, Jacqueline Reed, Allison Reed, Nolan Reed, Maggie Shabe, Stacey Sisler, Vanessa Banez, Larry Haga III, Alan Haga, Matthew Haga, Jeffrey Haga Jr., and Brian Haga. Mr. Reed was also blessed with five great grandchildren Shane, Kyla, Olivia, Charlotte and Madelyn Haga. He leaves behind brothers, sisters and nieces.
Mr. Reed served in the Army from 1953-55 as a Military Policeman. Mr. Reed worked at Suburban Propane in Rockville for 42 years.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday February 8, 2014 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to FMH - Hospice Team, 400 W. Seventh Street, Frederick, MD 21701.
