Joseph Linthicum

April 21, 1930 — February 14, 2014

Mr. Joseph Lincoln Linthicum, 83, of Damascus, MD and formerly of Frederick County passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014. Born April 21, 1930 on the family farm, he was the 3rd son of the late Irma Watkins and Meil Wright Linthicum (the man my mother boarded). Joseph was a prominent grain farmer in Frederick and Montgomery Counties. He sold sweet corn and vegetables at home in Damascus for 10 years alongside of his beloved life companion, Linda L. Adcock. Joseph will be remembered for his ability to share the news as a walking newspaper in Damascus. He appreciated his many friends and in his later years, enjoyed the Golden Corral and visiting friends including Mildred Watkins on Sunday mornings. In addition, he had a sweet tooth for cookies and ice cream. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by numerous family as well as survived by numerous other family. Pallbearers to honor Joe will be Brian Miller, Lee Rosenthal, Paul Patel, Roger Watkins, Richard Thornley, and Jason Robinson. A service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014, 11 AM, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 8 East Ridgeville Blvd., Mount Airy, MD 21771. Family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will be private. The family requests the omission of flowers.
